Listening to police radio chatter is addictive. Especially being across the other side of the world, not knowing a city conjures up all sort of imagery to what you are hearing, wondering what the backstories are to the people involved. Even though it is real, the fuzz, noise and severity of the everyday crimes, compared to what I am used to, makes it feel fictional.

Although some of the recordings are horrible and macabre and of course real, I was compelled to do something with them whilst simultaneously being conscious that these are people's lives, and being respectful of that.

I decided to record some over the period of a few months for an experimental EP. Something vastly and deliberately different from my last release.

I had so many recordings, my planned EP swiftly grew into this album.
The music was put together in a period of two weeks.

All tracks were fully improvised on the spot, absolutely no forward planning except the choosing of synthesiser patches to use, I played along to the police recordings. Everything was recorded once. If it sounded good, it made the grade.
